EMF EURO 2020 will take place in Košice, Slovakia, between 7th – 14th of November. The strongest national teams from all parts of Europe will come to Košice to the European title. The new state of the art STEEL Arena will host all matches of the tournament.

The event was announced in a press conference held in Košice on Monday, when the location, venue and logo of the event were revealed for the first time. The official logo of the championship takes the shape of the EMF EURO 2020 trophy. It consists of small pentagons in the colors of the Slovak flag and symbolizes in particular modernity and dynamism, ie, the attributes that characterize Minifootball.

Borislav Aleksandrov, President of the European Minifootball Federation told the press: “For the European Minifootball Federation, it is a pleasure to organize the biggest Minifootball event for the national teams in Košice. Slovakia won the bid for holding the most prestigious tournament in Minifootball. Their main competitors were Turin, Italy, and the Serbian town of Subotica. The Slovak Minifootball Association is one of the fastest-growing and developing Minifootball Associations in the world. I want to congratulate Mr. Peter Králik, the President of the Slovak Minifootball Association and the Mayor of Košice, Mr. Jaroslav Polaček, and to express my sincere gratitude for the hard work that preceded the successful candidacy. Košice has a strong sports background and we are very pleased to have the opportunity to establish a long-term and extensive partnership with the city and citizens. I am sure that together we will present the most amazing event in Minifootball ever.”

Peter Králik, President of the Slovak Minifootball Association: “I am very happy to bring the most prestigious European Minifootball event to Košice in November. A big thank you goes to Mayor Polaček and the whole city of Košice for securing the financing of renting the STEEL Arena and even all the necessary services. It was a decisive advantage over other cities. It is a huge challenge for the Slovak Minifootball Association, but we are full of determination to organize a great event to please all fans in Slovakia. After successfully performing at the WMF World Cup in Australia, it will again be a great opportunity to make our sport more popular and visible.”

Mayor of Kosice Jaroslav Polaček: “I am glad that our city will be one of the main hosts of the EMF EURO 2020. It is another event that will prove to Slovakia and the whole world that Košice is a sports city without a title. Kosice loves sports, and we are delighted that we can mediate such struggles at the international level”.
