If you have enjoyed our first article announcing the date and venue of EMF EURO 2021, we are bringing you another reason to rejoice today. In today’s article, we want to introduce you the stadium where our tournament will take place – the Steel Arena in Košice.
STEEL ARENA is the most advanced and the only multipurpose hall in Slovakia
It is used primarily for home matches of the ice-hockey club HC Košice. Cultural events, concerts, festivals and lectures are also held here.
Thanks to modern technologies and its size, Steel Arena has already hosted many large events. The Fed Cup tennis matches were played here, twice the best hockey players in the world played during the IIHF Ice-Hockey World Championships (2011 & 2019), and two years ago the Slovak national team also won the World Ball Hockey Championships here.
The capacity of this stadium is a total of 8347 spectators. In addition to the classic seats, Steel Arena also has 40 skyboxes directly under the roof of the hall.
The Steel Arena is also advantageous due to its location almost in the city center. It is only 7-10 minutes from the city center, from the main train and bus station you can also get there in about 15 minutes. Directly in front of the stadium are public transport stops and parking for fans arriving by car.
The best care for everyone – players & fans
Okay, let’s move from the outside to the inside. Steel Arena was built in 2006, so we can still talk about a new hall, respectively just living its teenage years.
The Steel Arena will provide us with all its amenities during the EMF EURO 2021. We will have catering facilities, stalls for partners and a merchandise store as well. We will as organize and mark info points for fans to get all the important information anytime needed.
We would also love to create a fan zone for the fans, however, all these possibilities will be subject to the current pandemic situation and the options available.
Feels like a pro
But let’s go back to the hall for a moment. We will also have well-equipped locker rooms for teams, which are very spacious and players will sit in the same places as the world’s top athletes.
